According to their blog, it is ‘a testament to relentless innovation and continuous evolution’. There are plenty of reasons to be excited about this model, especially as it comes with a promise of ‘a more sophisticated design and powerful performance.’

Here’s a detailed look at all the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S25:

Design

The S25 keeps the minimalist look of its predecessor with a few refinements. The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 panels and second-generation Armor Aluminium frame ensure that the device is durable and lightweight at the same time. It is also 0.4mm thinner and 5 grams lighter than the S24. With an IP68 certification, the S25 is also dust and water resistant.

Samsung retained its sleep design with no camera bump. The three lenses in metal rings gives the device a premium feel. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor keeps its place under the display.

The USB-C port, speaker grille and SIM tray stay at the bottom while the power and volume buttons remain positioned on the right side.

Display

Like the S24, this model also features a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. It offers 1080 x 2300 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

Samsung has claimed peak brightness of 2,600 nits, which makes it ideal for outdoor usage. The Android Ultra HDR support improves highlights in compatible photos, which means that the colours pop out even as it maintains.

But one major shortcoming of the S25 in the display department is the absence of Dolby Vision. This means that HDR content does not appear as refined as it does on other devices, like the iPhone 16.

Operation System & AI Integration

The device runs on Android 15 OS and also has One U17 which brings in several AI enhancements. Google Gemini comes preloaded in the device and lets users summarise text, interact naturally with apps and generate AI-generated answers.

One of the AI additions in the S25 is the Cross-App Actions which lets you fetch information, store it in Notes, create calendar events or send messages – all with just one prompt. Circle to Search is integrated with audio recognition, letting you identify songs.

But the clear winner in the AI department of the S25 is the Gallery Generative Edit. It lets you remove unwanted objects from photos and enhance your photographs with the help of AI.

Performance

The Exynos processor is replaced by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, one of the major upgrades of the S25. Featuring two Prime cores clocked at 4.47GHz, this 3nm chipset is the fastest Android CPU right now.

Loaded with 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB UFS 4.0 storage, the Galaxy S25 can multitask with ease. Gamers and heavy users will love operating this device.

Camera

Samsung has retained its triple-camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor, 10 MP telephoto (3x optical zoom) and 12 MP ultra-wide lens. The hardware is similar to the S24 but the ProVisual Engine has improved image processing while also reducing motion blur and noise when it comes to improving details.

In daylight conditions, the phone can click amazing shots with natural colours, excellent contrast and sharpness. The portrait mode offers precise edge detection, which offers professional-looking bokeh effects. The ultra-wide lens also delivers images with consistent colour and sharpness.

Thanks to its AI-enhanced night processing, low light photography has also improved on the S25. Selfies also look good as the front camera is 12 megapixels and autofocus ensures sharper photographs. Video calls also look sharp even in dim lighting.

The Galaxy Log video mode has flexible colour grading while HDR video recording has been upgraded to 10-bit HDR. The 8K30 video recording improves flexibility. Pro Mode unlocks 4K24 cinematic recording which is a great feature for content creators and video enthusiasts.

Battery

The S25 retains the 4000 mAh battery from the S24 which feels less compared to competition but optimisations on the Snapdragon 8 Elite have ensured that the device is efficient when it comes to power retention. In other words, the device will last a full day for moderate usage but power users will need to plug it in by evening.

Charging is 25 W wired and 15 W wireless, same as the S24. Samsung has upgraded wireless charging to Qi 2.1, which allows magnetic accessories but unlike its competitors, there is no fast-charging capability.

In comparison, the iPhone 16 charges way faster and the OnePlus 13 supports 100 W charging. This is clearly an area where Samsung needs to catch up.

Packaging

Samsung usually incorporates the device’s form factor and materials into the packaging. But the S25 has moved to a silhouette-driven design instead. The box is made from 100% recycled paper materials – which reinforces Samsung’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

The Last Word

For those looking to upgrade older devices, the Galaxy S25 is a solid choice. Especially if what you seek are top-tier performance, sleek design and cutting-edge AI features. As mentioned earlier, the design is also more durable and premium, with a more refined, lightweight build.

But if battery life and fast charging are among your top requirements, this might not be the phone for you. The absence of Dolby Vision in the display is another point that goes against this device.

However, starting at a price of ₹80,999 (at the time of writing), this device is definitely value for money!
