Adobe has come up with a new launch that will change the way users interact with tools like Photoshop, Acrobat and Premiere Pro.
Anyone who has worked with creatives online is no stranger to Adobe. The computer software company based out of San Jose, California, leads the way when it comes to digital creativity. Adobe tools like Photoshop and Illustrator have been lifesavers for designers for over a decade now.
But now, Adobe has announced the next chapter in its AI evolution and this one will be led by agentic AI. These AI agents that are intelligent and action oriented will change the way how users interact with the software.
They don’t just help in creating content, they will also assist, collaborate and learn, making the entire creative processes faster, smoother and a lot more intuitive. Here’s how the AI agents will help with productivity across creative, business and marketing workflows…
From Generative to Agentic
Adobe has already shown its generative AI capabilities with the Firefly tool which has been widely adopted across the world. But agentic AI will be another ball game altogether.
Unlike traditional AI that executes commands and generates output, AI agents are like co-pilots: they learn from the user, anticipate the requirements and proactively complete tasks.
Ely Greenfield – Adobe’s CTO of Digital Media – hails this shift as an effort to “amplify human imagination”. He says that “AI isn’t here to replace creatives but to help them go further, faster.”
Smarter Documents with Acrobat
According to its data, Adobe Acrobat has over 650 million monthly active users and over 400 billion PDFs are opened annually which makes it an ideal starting point to introduce an AI agent. The Acrobat AI Assistant – which is already in use – helps students and professionals to analyze documents, answer questions and summarize key points.
You can even customise these AI agents to perform specific tasks as per your requirement. This could include reviewing legal documents, extracting financial data or even suggesting follow-up research. Apart from automation, these agents also offer reasoning capabilities which helps in gathering deeper insights from massive amounts of textual information.
Creative Partner in Adobe Express
When it comes to creating quick and compelling visual content, Adobe Express is the go-to tool. Powered with its AI agents, the tool now helps students and marketers in the design process by suggesting improvements and even customising designs based on trends or brand guidelines.
Whether it is a small business struggling to create compelling market content on a low budget or a student trying to create visually compelling presentations, agentic AI is making it simpler for non-designers to design appealing content.
Users don’t need to master the tools anymore, just tell the AI agent what is needed and they will do the rest.
Creative Cloud’s Intelligent Future
Adobe Firefly already has over 20 billion assets generated from it. Agentic AI is now helping in integrating it with Creative Cloud tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
At the Adobe Max 2025 slated for October, the company is set to launch is first agent for Photoshop. This agent will analyse existing images, suggest edits and even perform one-click enhancements – all this while the user is in control.
Another agent will help users learn Photoshop, share feedback and guide them through new techniques.
Agentic Editing in Premiere Pro
When it comes to video editing, Premiere Pro will soon be equipped with Media Intelligence. It will be able to recognise objects, scenes, camera angles and even spoken dialogues which will help video editors to sort through all the clips to find the perfect shot.
Going forward, agentic AI will be able to build rough cuts, adjust audio and even refine colour based on the user’s specifications. The user will remain the storyteller but the agent will do all the legwork.
Smarter Marketing with AI Agents
Agentic AI within the Creative Cloud will help with personalised marketing. It will help tailor content based on user behaviour, context and placement. AI chatbots will be able to guide users on e-commerce on travel booking sites.
Marketers will also be able to make changes to web content to drive conversions. Something that earlier would have required lengthy development cycles will now be completed in a matter of minutes.
The Last Word
The aim of this agentic AIs is not just automation, its collaboration. AI that adapts, learns from feedback and contributes ideas. Whether you’re a student, an entrepreneur or a creative director, these agents will help scale both your output as well as your imagination.
In Adobe’s own words: “The best use of AI is when it gives people more control over their work and frees them up to do what they love.”
