Joy for Paes, Kuznetsova

Joy for Paes, Kuznetsova

Leander Paes of India and Lukas Dlouhy of the Czech Republic won the French Open men's doubles championship on Saturday, beating Dick Norman of Belgium and Wesley Moodie of South Africa 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

It's the first Grand Slam title Dlouhy and Paes have won together.

They lost in the 2008 US Open final.

Paes has won four other men's doubles major titles, but with two other partners.

This is Dlouhy's first Grand Slam championship.

"We started one year ago today so this is a very special day for us and I would like to thank Lukas," said the 35-year-old Paes, who was cheered on by his former mixed doubles partner Martina Navratilova.

Dlouhy added: "I'm very nervous because I won for the first time and thanks to Leander for carrying me."
