Andrew Hall of South Africa took 454 balls to score his maiden Test century (163 runs) against India in Kanpur. He did manage to put the visitors in a strong position in the first Test. He was patient alright, but he also managed to test the patience of the spectators. His slow batting set the trend for the Test and the match would eventually grind to a dull draw.
