Gilly's Chargers canter to 24-run win

The last time the Royal Challengers and Deccan Chargers took each other on in an IPL tie, in 2008, the Bangalore men clinched a five-wicket win.

With new leaders at the helm for both teams, battle was rejoined at Cape Town on Wednesday night.

Adam Gilchrist it was who triumphed over Kevin Pietersen at the toss and he had little hesitation in electing to bat.

The first Deccan Chargers wicket to fall was that of Herschelle Gibbs who was dismissed by Praveen Kumar (seen here) for a seven-ball 13.

By then the Chargers, riding on their skipper's pyrotechnics, had raced to 46-1 by the end of the fourth over.
