When Sunil Gavaskar first breached it, 10,000 runs was one of the most coveted landmarks in cricket. It continues to remain so, but more and more players are finding the mark within their reach. In fact, since Steve Waugh raised his 10,000th run in his 156th Test on January 3, 2003, two other players - Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar - have gone on to scale what was once thought to be an unassailable peak in cricket.
