Payal Jain draws inspiration from various costume cultures of the world.

The collection she displayed last year, for instance, embodied a kind of rustic character.

Though the inspiration comes from different soils, some facets stay on in almost all her work. Artistic textures, interesting layering, elaborate hand embroidered and woven details, structured silhouettes and self-knitted patterns are the basic elements.

In Payal Jain's designs, the rustic and the urbane come together on a totally unorthodox platform. Naturally, it introduces a surprise element. The mixture of the old and the new creates an avante garde of its own.
