 | These two men in their 30s have changed the way we surf the
web. Their invention Google, is the world's most popular Internet
search engine. And the company's IPO is the most-eagerly awaited event
on the stock markets.
The average Google search takes about a half second, driven by 10,000
interconnected Google computers. Google recently stunned established
e-mail providers by launching a free e-mail service in beta with 1
GB space.
The search engine started as a research project when Page and Brin
were students at Stanford University.
The pair borrowed money from their teachers and family to get started.
And their invention took off, as Page says, like a virus. Today they
have 1,000 employees.
