New Delhi: Assured by the BJP high command that he would stay in office, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday night reached out to the dissident camp, whichis demanding his ouster, and held meetings with his bete noire Ananth Kumar and Jagadish Shettar, the rebels' rallying point.
After reaching the national capital Wednesday evening, Yeddyurappa sent out a message to the dissidents when he told the media that he would be meeting the mining magnate Reddy brothers -- who are leading the rebel camp -- to resolve thecrisis in party in the state.

He then travelled to the house of his detractor Ananth Kumar, who allegedly fanned the dissidence against the chief minister, and met him. The party had, however, refuted media reports that Ananth Kumar had been egging the dissidents on.
Interestingly, Kumar and Yeddyurappa then drove down to meet Speaker Jagadish Shettar, who is the rally point of the dissidents at a hotel. Shettar, a Lingayat like Yeddyurappa, was propped up by the Reddy brothers as a contender for the top post after the crisis broke out.

Yeddyurappa also told reporters that he would meet senior leader Sushma Swaraj on Thursday. The Reddy brothers are close to Swaraj, who had contested Lok Sabha poll from Bellary where the brothers have their mines, and have held several rounds of meetings with her after the crisis.
