World Tour Finals: Bhupathi-Knowles lose to Nestor-Zimonjic

2009-11-27 19:10:00

India's Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Lukas Dlouhy lost 4-6, 6-7(9) to top seeds Daniel Nestor of Cananda and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia in an inconsequential match of ATP World Tour Finals tennis.

Bhupathi-Knowles are already through to the semifinals as they have won their first two Group A matches.

For defending champions Nestor and Zimonjic, it was first win in the tournament Thursday. The duo cannot qualify for the semifinals after losing two opening matches in Group A.

Nestor and Zimonjic broke the Indo-Bahamian pair for a 3-2 lead in the fist set and then bounced back from 2-6 down in the second set tie-break to close the match in 78 minutes.

'We have to look after ourselves and our games,' said Bhupathi. 'If we execute like we have been the last three matches, I think we'll have a good shot to win Saturday.'

India's Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy bowed out Wednesday, losing to Mike and Bob, in their second consecutive loss in the tournament.
