Mumbai: Aparna Purohit, wife of Malegaon blast accused Lt Col Prasad Purohit, today claimed her husband "has mentally collapsed" after being accused of being a "terrorist".
Purohit, arrested early this month, is now in custody of Anti Terrorism Squad.
"I am sure he is not involved (in the blast)...Everything is fabricated," she told a news channel after meeting her husband in the court yesterday.
Malegaon accused charged under MCOCA Asked what Purohit told her when she met him, she said: "The first thing he said was `they are calling me a terrorist'. He has mentally collapsed because of this. He has been an upright officer. Mentally, he is not able to take it."
Aparna said her husband had put in a lot of efforts while serving in the army and he himself has carried out many operations against terrorists.
"It is really crushing" when he is being accused of involvement in terrorist actions, Aparna said.

According to the ATS, Purohit was one of the key conspirators of the September 29 blast in the communally-sensitive powerloom town of Maharashtra in which six persons were killed.
