Australia attacks : Are the students to be blamed?

Despite a dozen attacks on Indian students in Australia, the usually active NRI forums seem to have gone quiet. Most of them say the Indian students invited these vicious attacks upon themselves. Your take.

One cannot blame all Indian students or all Australian. Most students behave well and work hard in Australia. However there are few bad ones who bring trouble and bring bad name for whole community. Again all Indian or Australian are not racists. Some forms of racism exists in all countries including India. Before pointing finger, Indian should look at their own records of attacks on SC/STs, Adivasis and other disadvantaged people and the Police have failed to protect such communities for long time. Why are Indian keeping quite and behave as if such things do not happen in India. Even media fails to report such incidents.

Australia had racist past but has moves on and has done remarkable well on race issue. India and Australia should work to fight race/caster discrimination where ever it exists.

Official protest should be lodged seriously and some kind of protest must be staged drawing the attention of the world community.

What is wrong in the attitude exhibited by Australians towards Indian Students? What moral right we have to denounce the same when in our own Country in Maharastra non Marathians are attacked, in Tamilnadu non Tamilains are not tolerated so on. What happened in African Countries after attaining Independence? Laks of Indian and other businessmen were driven out of Countries like Uganda, Zimbabwe etc. If we look at the Social psyche, this sons of the soil attitude will gain greater momentum in the days to come and non of the migrants settled in an alien country are going to be safe. Based on present situation they are living their home land to earn some fast bucks which is causing huge loss to the homeland which has spent a fortune of Tax Payers money on them. Time has to to rethink about going to these so called developed countries in search of lucrative assignments aand settle down there. Otherwise their children are likely to face the backlash in the days to come.

Dear Rahul,

Wish you many many happy returns of the day. I pray the Almighty to bless with long life so that you can do some thing to solve many problems faced by this Great Nation. You are the messiah of future and people of this country have great hope on you. We placed similar hope on your Great Father Rajiv but he was misled by his so called welshers for their own benefits. Hope you will hold your own and do some thing. Infuse new blood in the Party and make it a point that person of 65 years and above and doubtful integrity are not inducted in Government.
