Do Exit Polls help?

At exactly 5 p.m. on May 13, TV channels started airing their exits polls. While all the channels claimed their results reflected the readings of a huge sample, their projections differed by large margins - and leant towards different parties. So the question is: do exit polls serve any purpose? And if they do - with their differing protections - what can the common man deduce from them?

Exit polls are a big waste of time and they do little good but provide some entertainment for the channels who claim to work 24 X 7.
They are more often sponsored by parties and companies for vested interests.

Second time in a row these Exit Polls have failed to serve any purpose. Only beneficiery seems to be the various TV channels garnering advt. money thru these programmes. They MUST BE DISCONTINUED IN FUTURE.

No this "Exit Poll" does not help at all. Its just a guess which is given by the media by making some judgements. This is sheer a waste of time.
