Maria-Nikam combination has always been successful

Mumbai: The Maria-Nikam combination has always been successful when it comes to bringing the accused to book and dispensing justice. To be specific, it is the association between Rakesh Maria, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), and Ujjwal Nikam, the Special Public Prosecutor. They were the same people who achieved a record conviction in the March 12, 1993 serial blasts case and they teamed up again for the November 26-29 Mumbai terror attacks probe and trial.

While Maria can easily be referred to as Terror Buster No. 1, Nikam so far has sent 33 persons to the gallows in different cases.

The two are of around same age and get along well æ ¢oth have thorough knowledge of their areas of expertise and possess photographic memories.
