2009-02-28 13:34:27

Bhubaneswar: Maoist guerrillas on Saturday attacked a railway station and blew up its building in Orissa's Sundergarh district, police said.

Nearly 100 rebels attacked the Bhalulata railway station, asked three employees to vacate the building and blew it up with explosives, Inspector General of Police Pranabindu Acharya said.

The railway station, about 600 km from here, is located on the Orissa-Jharkhand border. The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) Saturday called a strike in Jharkhand, Orissa and West Bengal to protest against the arrest of their cadres.
