Hung House again?
As the fate of those aspiring to be in the 15h Lok Sabha remains sealed in EVM machines, even the most astute political observers can predict only one this with certainty. Like all the Houses elected since 1989, the 2009 election is bound throw a hung one.
The inevitability of a coalition government has forced the Congress and the BJP - which hope to emerge as a pivot around which the next ruling coalition would be woven - as well as the Left parties - hankering to prop up 1996 vintage Third Front claim -- to chart the future course of national politics in an era of coalitions.
BJP-led National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) Prime Ministerial candidate, L K Advani boasts of the BJP's sagacious handling of the coalition government under Atal Behari Vajpayee. Congress president Sonia Gandhi claims that Manmohan Singh led the most successful coalition government of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA).
