The UPA government at the Centre, which completes one year in office, has not been free from controversies. At the outset itself the UPA faced trouble with the DMK refusing to accept the portfolios allocated to it. The Congress failed to adhere fully to an agreement on portfolio allocation and the DMK ministers refused to assume office.
