Louisiana Republican Piyush `Bobby` Jindal made history when he became only the second person of Indian origin to make it to the US Congress. Jindal, who narrowly lost the race to be Louisiana Governor in 2003, bounced back to win a whopping 78 per cent of the vote in the elections held this year. Of Punjabi extraction, Jindal converted to Christianity in his teens. He is considered somewhat of a `wonder boy` in Louisiana.
