Laxmi Pandit was set to take on the world when she was crowned the first runner up at the Miss India contest. But the Miss India-World`s moment of glory faded too soon. A journalist discovered that Pandit rented a flat at Liberty Gardens in Malad as model Siddharth Mishra`s wife. And all hell broke loose. Pandit, who later gave up her title, says she pretended to be married to get a place to live in Mumbai.
