Thiruvananthapuram: A high alert has been sounded across Kerala after a Bangalore-based television channel received a message saying there will be at least two blasts in the state today.
Ahmedabad bomb blasts
A journalist of TV 9 channel received a message on his mobile phone this afternoon which said "Bangalore ho gaya, Gujarat ho gaya...today saat baje Kerala mein blast ho jayega (Bangalore is over, Gujarat is over...blasts will take place in Kerala at 7 pm today)."

The journalist told a Malayalam channel the number from which the message came was "+091118809" and claimed to be issued by "Mujahideen".
Kerala Director General of Police Raman Sreevastava immediately convened a high-level emergency meeting to review the security situation and gave instructions to step up vigil throughout the state.
Another live bomb foud in Surat
Major commercial centres, IT parks, important places of worship, bus stands, railway stations and airports are under close observation of security and intelligence personnel.
After the meeting, Sreevastava said there was no need to panic as the police, security and intelligence agencies are on high alert.
Red alert in Madhya Pradesh
"We take everything seriously. Police are hundred per cent active and alert. There is no need to panic. I have full confidence in police and also the people of the state," he told reporters.
He urged the people to inform the police if they come across any thing suspicious.
Bomb blast in Jharkhand
When asked if any leads linking Kerala with Bangalore and Ahmedabad blasts had been received, Sreevastava said "so far not".
Police had instructed movie houses in major cities to cancel night shows in view of the alert.
State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said security has been fully geared up and appealed to people to refrain from spreading rumours.
Security at the famous Guruvayuoor Sree Krishna temple, where hundreds of devotees turn up daily, has also been stepped up.
Police was keeping a special vigil in all the border check posts especially in Wayanad in north Kerala bordering Karnataka.
Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan has convened a high level meeting of officials here tomorrow to review the situation and take stock of the security preparedness.
