Did media overplay swine flu panic?

Many people argue that the media has overplayed the swine flu panic. But others feel the TV channels have been performing their social responsibility.
 
 

The channels did their job decently well and, as a result, there is awareness about Swine flu among people. If the people now know how to insulate themselves from swine flu or what they should do if one is affected, the credit should go to the media.

Irrespective of whether the western media had a hidden agenda behind playing up the panic, for the Indian channels, A H1N1 seemed to have come as a saving grace to keep themselves occupied with when the country was devoid of high politics or scandals.

Awareness is neccessary but panic should be avoided. More focus on personel hygine, this is the time we should learn to keep our sanitary system clean all the time

There are more health related issues, Swine Flu, is a hiped up Media FLU.

In India if we go on checking the statistics about the mass succumbing by very many diseases on every day basis which can be prevented SWINE FLU will not be even in the first tens, swine flu need to be kept in mind but its been made a scare unneccessary by media
