Did media overplay swine flu panic?

Many people argue that the media has overplayed the swine flu panic. But others feel the TV channels have been performing their social responsibility.
 
 

The channels did their job decently well and, as a result, there is awareness about Swine flu among people. If the people now know how to insulate themselves from swine flu or what they should do if one is affected, the credit should go to the media.

Irrespective of whether the western media had a hidden agenda behind playing up the panic, for the Indian channels, A H1N1 seemed to have come as a saving grace to keep themselves occupied with when the country was devoid of high politics or scandals.

Actually we are getting updatd information only in newspaper but not in reginal private tv CHANNEL.We the people, in particular layman has to be informed by tv channels ie in regional lnguages

The media has done their part very well. It has created an awareness amonst the general public in protecting themselves from the deadly virus.

As said "Prevention is better than cure" and Ignorance being a curse... Media has proven itself in making the Society aware of the Swine Flu and its preventive measures in No Time.Whatever may be the reason for the spread of disease its initially important to eradicate it because of its rate of spreading and adverse effects.I completely agree that Media has done its job in improving the knowledge about the Disease
