Did media overplay swine flu panic?

Many people argue that the media has overplayed the swine flu panic. But others feel the TV channels have been performing their social responsibility.
 
 

The channels did their job decently well and, as a result, there is awareness about Swine flu among people. If the people now know how to insulate themselves from swine flu or what they should do if one is affected, the credit should go to the media.

Irrespective of whether the western media had a hidden agenda behind playing up the panic, for the Indian channels, A H1N1 seemed to have come as a saving grace to keep themselves occupied with when the country was devoid of high politics or scandals.

the media is very best making of awareness to the peoples by channel & paper for the situation but i agree for media publication

Media should have potrayed the need of the hour , but not been publishing report of each and every death and creating a panic over the public . I guess Media overplayed a bit .They need to take leaf out of some other countries.

Nowadays the media is only looking at publicity..they dont give a damn to how useful it will be to the public..as long as their TRP ratings are high, they are happy

THE PRESENT SWINE FLU OUTBREAK IN INDIA IS MAINLY AFFECTING METROS AND TIER II CITIES. MEDIA HAS EDUCATED THIS POPULATION.
