Make voting compulsory
We are the largest democracy in the world, but when it comes time to exercise our franchise, most of us stay at home and snooze. And then we complain our `chosen` leaders are nincompoops. It`s high time we were shaken out of our apathy. Voting needs to be made compulsory - and punitive measures taken against those who don't. The least we can do - if we don't like anyone - is to check the 'None of the above' (49-O) option! Join the Citizen`s Charter to campaign for compulsory voting.

  The voting must be compulsory for those people who enjoys the public holiday declared. the firms who declared the public holiday somebody must check the people had actually voted or not.
Those dosent voted there ration cards must cancelled by the authority

  I think making voting compulsory is a good measure as it will ensure the winners indeed have people's mandate. There should be negative voting as well. One can either exercise positive or negative voting. People don't vote because they feel negatively about the candidates. Negative voting will bring about who is most undesirable.
