Kolkata: West Bengal's ruling Left Front major partner, the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), has called a 10-hour shutdown in Singur on Saturday to protest the "conspiracy" hatched by the Opposition that forced Tata Motors to shift its small car project from the area.
The call for the shutdown was given on Friday by the Singur zonal committee of the CPI-M, hours after Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata announced that Tata Motors was pulling out the Nano project from Singur.
