Chandrayaan's orbit raised

Bangalore/Thiruvananthapuram: A day after its flawless launch, India's Chandrayaan-1 steadily made its journey to the moon after the first orbit-raising manoeuvre of the lunar spacecraft was today successfully performed by scientists.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said the satellite's health was normal and it was on the right track.

In the first of the five orbit raising manoeuvres, today's operation was performed at 0900 hours when the satellite's 440 Newton Liquid Engine was fired for about 18 minutes by commanding the spacecraft from Spacecraft Control Centre (SCC) at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bangalore.

Chandrayaan completes four orbits around Earth

The operation was done some 26 hours after the 1,300 kg spacecraft was successfully put into its intended orbit by the Polar satellite Launch Vehicle--PSLV-C11.

"With this engine firing, Chandrayaan-1's apogee (farthest point to earth) has been raised to 37,900 km, while its perigee (closest point to earth) has been raised a little, to 305 km," the space agency said in a statement.

"In this orbit, Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft takes about 11 hours to go round the earth once.

Special: Destination Moon

"All systems onboard the spacecraft are functioning normally. Further orbit raising manoeuvres are planned in the coming days," ISRO said.

Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre Director K Radhakrishnan Nair said in Thiruvananthapuram that Chandrayaan-1's journey was progressing well and all parameters were functioning well.

It's really a wake up call for the Americans and especially to the NASA because the day is not far when the entire world will come to know the naked truth that US never landed any man on the moon nor did they sent any manned mission to the moon. The 1969 episode of Neil Armstrong landing on moon was only a fake movie created in the deserts of Utah state in USA.(Similar to a Hollywood movie)They have fooled the people around the world into believing that they have landed the first man on moon. Since vedic times INDIA has achieved supremacy in astronomy and cosmology which no country in the world has achieved till date.In this modern world INDIA is once again establishing its true vedic achievements.Hope to tsee the first man ,an INDIAN on the moon.Hip Hip Hurray ISRO and Jai Hind.

as the journey is progressing well and all the parameters are functioning well, the signs are good that the indian space programme has come of age and that one should strive for reaching the pinacle and become the leader space exploration. india has the potential and the required intellectual wealth to do it.
