With this film, raising star Srihari would have realised the importance of working with a seasoned director like Ravi Raja Pinisetty. Though his earlier four films were hits, this technically polished film would catapult into a different league. Undoubtedly he has given a matured performance as an upright police official. Ravi Raja who worked with big stars like Chiranjeevi and Sunny Deol presented the action star in a stylized manner and fused all the ingredients to make it a winner. Srihari is an upright police officer and takes the company of alcohol in the evenings since he is unable to forget his deceased wife (Raasi). He books Vineeth for kidnapping Maheswari acting on the complaint of her parent Rami Reddy but later comes to know through Vineeth’s grandfather (Nagesh) that both are actually in love. Vineeth disturbs the engagement of Maheswari and earns the wrath of his family. He is brutally beaten up and cases were foisted against him. Srihari instructs Rami Reddy to bring his daughter to the temple since he wants to know from her whether she is in love or not. Daringly Maheswari declares her love for Vineeth but Vineeth backs out since his grandfather is held captive by Reddy. The attempt by Reddy to get his daughter married to another boy is foiled when they happen to see her photographs with Vineeth and they confront Reddy. Srihari takes up the issue and brings Vineeth to the mantap and Vineeth shocks Srihari by disclosing his love. Srihari enacts a drama and marries Maheswari and takes her to Vizag. Initially she doubts his intentions but when he takes her to Vineeth she is overjoyed. Srihari justifies his drama and wins their appreciation. He also reveals to them how he lost his wife (Raasi) in the hands of a ruthless goon whom she was about to expose in court. Reddy comes to know of the `drama’ and tries to separate them with his goons but Srihari bashes them in a death-defying action sequence on a running train and finally Reddy approves their love. Srihari’s ‘genuine’ intentions loose their credibility when he teases Maheswari on the nuptial night and his vulgar descriptions about her relationship with Vineeth are truly intimidating. How this episode was overlooked by a director of Ravi Raja’s stature still remains a surprise. Raasi after doing special numbers now seems to be inclined to do special appearances since viewers could have missed her if they had blinked their eyes. Ace comedian Nagesh exhibits his immense talent in few scenes and both Vineeth and Maheswari perform well. |
