| “It is a psychological love drama” says debutante director AVS Aadinarayana. “The theme probes into the depths of true love in all it’s sincerity. Since birth itself is an accident, falling in love is an accident too. How our hero falls in love with the heroine and how he overcomes the problems that arise, is shown in a realistic way in this musical-love story,” adds the director. There are in all ten songs tuned by Sri. To promote the audio, a letter pad with love quotes on each page was given free along with the cassettes! Now to get to the story. Bujji (Naveen) falls in love with Mini (Laila) when he sees her talking about the virtues of true love. She strongly feels that love is something more than a physical intimacy between two opposite sexes. Our sensitive hero falls head over heels for the unorthodox views of the heroine and is unable to stop himself conveying his love to her over the telephone. She spurns him but he is madly in love and pursues his goal of winning her love. In the process he comes to know that Mini is suffering from some incurable disease and our hero is more in love with her. The twist in the story is that the identity of the hero is not known to the heroine though she speaks to him over the phone and requests him to leave her alone. Now the drama starts. He acts as if he is suffering from the same disease as his heroine and admits himself in the same hospital, where she is taking treatment. He befriends her and makes her happy. Both decide to leave the hospital to a distant place to forget the thought of death. But now Mini comes to know that Bujji has no ailment and is disappointed that he lied to her. She cannot take this and returns home. Bujji follows her and tries to convince her to understand his feelings. Meanwhile Mini’s condition becomes serious and she is again admitted to the hospital. Bujji tries to commit suicide by consuming poison. Mini is brought back to life by the sheer strength of Bujji’s love and Bujji too is saved. So, what modern medicine could not accomplish, love does! Performance from Naveen and Laila looks convincing and realistic. The strong point is the film’s musical score, which may bring in repeat audience. |
