A chance cell phone conversation brings a man and woman closer, which later turns into love. They don’t see each other for long, but when the time comes, fate is not favorable to them. What happens next? This forms the crux of the film.

Gopika (Kamalini) is a doctor, living at Polavaram on the banks of the Godavari. She has a boat which has got a mobile clinic, serving the locals. Her life takes a turn when her close friend commits suicide in Hyderabad.

Her mobile is left at a booth which is picked by Gopi (Venu), an orchestra organizer. Soon, the conversations on mobile between Gopi and Gopika pick up. They don’t meet each other, but fall in love.

Gopika’s mother (Jayalalitha) doesn’t believe in such things. She insists on meeting Gopi personally. When it is about to happen, something happens, making the hopes topsy-turvy. Whether they get married or not? It has to be watched on the silver screen.

Venu looked energetic all through the film and he has performed with dexterity in all the scenes that involved emotions, barring few hiccups. Kamalini looked perfect with a superb screen presence. The comedy from Krishna Bhagawan is good, coupled with that of Kondavalasa and others.

The director deserves kudos for his interesting thread of narration, particularly the boat episodes. The dialogues are witty. The script is good but with few gaps with screenplay bringing the suspense element to play, teasing the audience. This remains the highlight of the film. Songs are nice, but one would get sagged down with the background music. Cinematography is not up to the mark, despite having scenic locations alongside the Godavari. Editing was weak in several contexts. Art and costume departments are good.

The film suffers from slow narration, though it held the curiosity. Most scenes end abruptly, giving a feel that the continuity is cut off. While the first half goes with a romantic touch, the second half lags with slow pace ducked by emotions. The film has the potential to entertain the family crowds rather than the youth.

Verdict: Average
