| This film was touted to be Nitin’s comeback vehicle after a string of flops and his big ticket to stardom. But sadly, the script lets him down and the film ends up disappointing. It is slow, predictable and is all about the hero and his friends pitted against a powerful land mafia gang and they end victorious in the end. Vijay Chandra (Nithin) is a strong, daring youth from a middle-class family (Tanikella Bharani & Sana) who wants to join the police force. Local MLA Devaraj (Ashutosh Rana) is a land grabber who eyes a plot which is very close to HITEC City! These plots were originally given away by a freedom fighter Pingali Venkataramayya (Ravi Kondala Rao), because the latter firmly believes that land, air, and water belong to everyone and no one should try to own them. Vijay’s family is one of the original owners and he tries to bring unity among people to fight against the MLA. Will his friends Ravi (Shashank), Satyam (Duvvasi Mohan), Sindhu (Sindhu Tholani) help him fight the battle or leave him as a lone warrior? How can he motivate them against fear of facing the wrath of the baddies? All this forms the story. Nitin’s six pack ab’s and toned body comes to use in this action flick. He dances and fights with grace but is weak in expressions when it comes to heavy scenes. Mamta is wasted. Sindhu Tholani as a TV reporter is ok while Shashank in the boy-next-door kind of role, who helps execute the protagonist's plans is impressive. Duvvasi Mohan gets an important role as one of the two friends of the hero, and he does offer some relief through his role. Ashutosh Rana has his usual hams in the role of a politician turned goon. Among the comedians, M.S. Narayana gets a role similar to that of Prakash Raj's in Premaku Velaayeraa! His character is rightly etched to suit the theme of the movie, and he does a good job presenting it too. Brahmanandam-Ali episode was intended to give some comedic relief while showing current scenario of corruption in government offices, but Abhinayasri's inclusion was unwanted. Krishna Bhagawan, who is for his comedy timing has hardly any dialogues in the film, and is thus wasted! Tanikella Bharani as the protagonist's dad who also helps him fight the battle has done his part well too. This thought-provoking movie falls flat and fails to impress. Verdict: Below Average |
