After disappointing the audiences with his Danger and slightly lifting the sagging spirits with Rakhi, Krishnavamsi comes out with a family drama set in the backdrop of a village. The audience finds it difficult to understand the relevance of the title Chandamama. The first half is time pass, but the second half turns predictable and boring.

Mahalakshmi (Kajal Agarwal), daughter of a rich landlord Ranga Rao (Naga Babu) comes to her village after completing studies in city. Rao announces the betrothal of his daughter with Dorababu (Siva Balaji), a hard working youngster and son of a landlord-turned-wastrel Ramalingeswara Rao (Ahuti Prasad).

But when the boy is about to marry the girl, she confesses about her affair with her college mate in the city. Meanwhile, Dorababu meets with an accident. All is well that ends well. After all, Dorababu marries another girl from the same village Maharani (Sindhu Menon). And, he contributes his energy to bring Mahalakshmi and Kishore (Navdeep) together.

Navadeep looks matured and has performed well in all departments. Interestingly, Telengana dialect is attached to his characterization. Siva Balaji and Kajal Agarwal is adequate while new girl Sindhu Menon has performed well as a village girl with an iota of stubborn mannerisms. Ahuti Prasad's characterization is a good watch. Naga Babu looks routine in his fatherly role. Rajesh and Uttej contributes to comedy while Abinaya Sree appears in an item number.

On the downside the climax is predictable. Radhakrishna’s music is average. Cinematography by Prasad Murella is a big plus point to the film. The beautiful canning of Moonlit locations in the backdrop of the historic remains of Hampi is superb. Krishnavamsi has to be commended for this. Production values are average. There is not much scope for comedy.

Verdict: Family entertainer
