| Director Srinivas Reddy who has done comedies like `Adirindayya Chandram` and `Tata, Birla Madhyalo Laila`, handles the film well.Though the first half is entertaining, the second half is confusing, a bit vulgar and predictable. A baby girl is born into a rich family. Astrologers predict that she would become a noble woman with a good-heart and is socially committed towards the suffering of others. They also say that the girl's family will become richer and she is named Aishwarya (Meera Jasmine). But, it is written in Yamalok that the girl would die at a young age. Running parallel to this story, at Yamalok, an aging Yamadharmaraja (Satyanarayana) wants to take rest, for which he proposes to throne his grandson Dharma Raju (Srikanth). Aging Chitragupta (Allu Ramalingiah –graphical presentation) will be also take rest, prompting his brother Vichitragupta (AVS) to do his duties temporarily. Hence, grandson of Chitragupta (Venu) gets ready to replace the old man. Yama wants to test the talent of the young guys (who are shown as buddies). They are sent to earth to take the life Aishwarya. But, young Yama falls in love with her. His buddy also falls in love with a woman cop Vaijayanti (Reema Sen). The love factor brings disrepute to Yama. But, finally the mortal love wins over Yamadharma. Srikanth gave excellent performance as young Yama, dancing well and powerful rendering of dialogues. Venu also did a neat job as Jr. Chitragupta. Meera Jasmine is deglamorised, but well suited to the storyline. Reema Sen's performance is good. Satyanarayana performed the role of aging Yama with élan. Though, he struggled with dialogue delivery, it remained natural on the screen. AVS has little scope to perform the role of Vichitragupta. The director blends cricket matches and modern Vastrapaharan to entertain today's audience. Music by Jeevan Thomas is average. The song in which Srikanth and Venu performed in the NTR getups is a good watch. Comedy is average. Graphics like the Indrasabha and Yamalokam are well created. Verdict: Average |
