| Devadasu is a plain vanilla coated love story with no great twists. Still director YVS Chowdary was able to dish out something that is quite enjoyable. The new kids on the block Ram and Ileana are ok. But what makes them good on screen is Dharan’s eye-catching camerawork thanks to Digital Imaging done. On the whole the film looks slick with peppy music of Chakri and good picturisation. The story is wafer than. Devadasu (Ram) is a poor but nice guy who falls in love with Bhanu (Ileana) a visiting US based rich daughter of a US senator (Sayaji Shinde). And predictably the girls’ father turns villain and takes her away to US. How our hero follows her and does the impossible of winning her hand forms the rest of this love story. YVS’s story is weak in content but he makes it up with style and presentation. The chemistry between the lead pair also adds life to the proceedings. And if you are looking for candyfloss romance on screen Devadasu is worth a look. Verdict: OK
