| Sri directed by Dasarath is a hotch-potch of various films that has been dished out in recent times. There is nothing new in the story with a banal presentation. The director who specializes in romantic family stories falters badly due to a script that has gone haywire. Dasarath is unsure how to project his hero as a mass action guy on a romantic lover and falls between two stools. The film is totally predictable and at times lags. The only respite in Sri is Sandeep Chowta’s music. Sriram (Manoj) lives in Bhuvaneswar and is in love with Sandhya (Tamanna). But Sandhya’s family is being targeted by the bad guy Bhikshapati (Devaraj) a seema factionist. Sri turns out to be the protector of the family as he has his own axe to grind against Bhikshapathi who was responsible for the death of his father! So Sri takes revenge on the baddies is what the rest of the film is all about. The story and screenplay is as stale as yesterday’s bread. Why should Dasarath a good romance story teller do such kind of insipid mass movies? Manoj looks bloated and should go on a crash diet. Tamanna the new girl is ok and Devaraj has the making of a great villain. Mohan Babu in a special appearance in the flashback is riveting other than that the film just does not hold your attention. Verdict: Disappointing |
