| With every release NTR is not only getting stale but alarmingly losing his charisma. Narasimhudu is one of those insufferable movies, that is devoid of a basic story and there is nothing new in style or presentation. It’s strictly pedestrian in its approach and director B.Gopal is incredibly lifeless and uninvolving. Narasimhudu is full of blood and gore and in the opening scene just to show the meanness of the villain, a Brahmin boy is beheaded! The camera shows the scene at close quarters and the hero’s weapon is a trishul which pierces the enemy’s throat and comes out of the body! The dialogues especially mouthed by Brahmanandam are smutty and full of double meaning. After watching the film, one wonders if the Hyderabad censors were sleeping? One thing is clear that the film is not meant for family audience. The story is credited to Ravi Shankar, the Kannada director and is based on Durgi, which itself was rip off of Sri Hari’s Ganapati! So much for originality. In the Kannada version, the story was female-centric while here the protagonist has been changed to a male. NTR has not moved out of his Simhadri formula as he is continuing to do the same routine fare in film after film. It is the same old formula- the hero making an entry in a dramatic fashion in a fight scene facing an army of people. Later there is a halo around his character as he has a past and no one knows his real identity. Post interval the flashback is revealed that he is Kondaveeti Narasimhudu and the title card shows- “Story has just begun”... The second half of flashback it is shown that out\r hero is an orphan a do-gooder who is a darling of the village folks. Now he is on a revenge spree as a minor girl in a village was raped and killed by the baddies (Rahul Dev and GV) aided by two political bigwigs JD (Puneet Issar) and Pothu Raja (Kalabhavan Mani). The rest of the film is how Narsimhudu goes about killing people to settle scores and he is helped in his mission by a cop (Ashish Vidyarthi) who looks the other way when murders take place! And what Bhoomika Chawla did in Simhadri is being repeated by Sameera Reddy-a lusty Malayalee girl who is always trying to seduce our macho hero and provides the oomph factor. Amisha Patel is there to do the village belle act and sing a few songs with NTR in Switzerland. Kalabhavan Mani does his usual mimicry act as a villain. Puneet Issar and Rahul Dev groan and Brahmanandam’s comedy act is revolting. The music of Mani Sharma is nothing to rave of and NTR is repetitive even in dance movements. NTR and his larger-than-life revenge drama with all the masalas are turning out to be a nightmare for the audience. NTR needs to reinvent himself badly and choose his scripts with far more care if he has to survive in a highly competitive industry. On the whole Narasimhudu is migraine inducing. Verdict: Avoidable
