Ravi Teja is well-known for lifting ideas from other Telugu superstars in his quest to be an action hero! However his latest film Bhadra is almost a frame to frame remake of Mahesh Babu’s Okkadu with some minor changes.

In Bhadra debutant director Boyapati Seenu has narrated the story in a flashback. And like the original, the film is full of blood and gore and on the whole lacks the freshness and magic of Okkadu. Meera Jasmine is paired with Ravi Teja and she has nothing much to do in this action film.

Bhadra (Ravi Teja) without any build-up or logic falls in live with Anu (Meera) at first sight. Meera is the sister of Bhadra’s close friend Raja (Deepak) whose family is involved in faction fights headed by elder brother (Prakash Raj).

One day a rival faction headed by Veeraih (Pradeep Rawat) massacres the entire family except Anu who is saved by Bhadra. Now our hero becomes the “protector” of Meera and his mission is to fight the baddies and see that she is safely send away to US! It’s now for everyone to guess the rest of the predictable yarn with lots of action and violence.

The basic problem of Bhadra is that it is a poor clone of Okkadu and there is hardly anything new in presentation and packaging. The music of Devi Sri Prasad is a major let down. Ravi Teja has worked hard and is adequate.

Meera lacks glamour and is a miscast in the film. Pradeep Rawat as villain does the same act he did in Sye. Prakash Raj, as usual is super in that cameo role. On the whole Bhadra is stale and disappointing.

Verdict: Disappointing
