The film with a sure shot star cast, a market savvy director and a big budget gloss, cannot fall flatter than Dhairyam does. Frankly Teja’s old formula of rich girl/boy falling in love with a poor boy/girl has been beaten to death. And the screenplay is a big let down that lacks any logic or sense or even continuity.

Seenu (Nitin) ,a nice guy with a heart of gold is the son of a municipality lorry driver(Tanikella). He falls in love with Mallika (Raima Sen) the daughter of a tycoon Somalinga Raju (Rahman). There is an age old class conflict between the girl and boy as the girl’s dad does not approve his daughter falling in love with a lower class guy.

Raju is livid with rage and he frames Seenu in a false case and put him behind the bars. The rest of the film is a predictable yarn in which the boy fights against all odds and wins in the end. Nitin has improved as an actor while Raima Sen parades in skimpy mini skirts, but lacks any oomph and cannot emote. Ali’s toilet humour is strictly for the front benchers. Music director Anoop has dished out hopelessly bland music and has a far way to go. In sum, the painfully prolonged, Dhairyam is a big bore. Keep away!
