| Abhinav Velagaleti the debutant director of Kaani has been heavily inspired by Manoj.Night Shyamalan’s Sixth Sense. Some scenes are taken from Ramgopal Varma’s Darna Mana Hai. The director throws open a world full of ghosts and other super naturals without giving the audience any fright! Karthik (Sai Kiran) is a leading psychiatrist who leads a happy married life with his wife Anjali (Jyothi). One day his patient shoots him and later shoots himself. But Karthik escapes with some injuries. Soon his married life is rocked as he starts treating a new patient Priya (Meera). One day his wife confesses that she is seeing atmalu( spirits)which leads to the twist in the story. Sai Kiran as Karthik is ok in the role of the psychiatrist and Meera as the mentally ill girl has a blank expression throughout. Jyothi , Preethi Nigam, and Sameer are just adequate. The story and screenplay has no nativity and the narration is low paced. Camera of S.D.John and music by Sashi Kumar are disappointing. Verdict: Below Average
