Oh No! Love Today is another love story inspired from the Hollywood flick Serendipity. Shiva (Uday Kiran) is madly in love with Parvatavardhini (Divya Khosla) and the film opens with the hero coming from Hyderabad to Mumbai to meet her. But he realizes that the girl has left the town and is now settled in Chennai. He reaches Chennai but returns heartbroken as the heroine’s father tells him that she is not interested in him! All this leads to disappointment, anger and frustration as the misunderstanding between the two crop up and the new character in all Serendipity films- “fate” plays an important role and solves all problems and the film ends on a happy note. It is an out and out Uday Kiran film. Divya Khosla the new model turned actress just can’t act and she looks wooden in most of the scenes. Vidyasagar’s tunes are rehashes from his earlier hits. Sunil’s separate comedy track raises a few laughs though it does not save the film. Director Aprudhan has a very thin storyline as the film moves at a snail pace. Unfortunately Love Today has nothing new to offer and ultimately lacks any style or soul. Verdict: Half Baked! |
