| By Moviebuzz Suresh Krissna is back with a vengeance in his latest directorial venture Raghavendra which is an action packed movie that points out the loopholes in our system. The tall and rugged Prabhas has all the making of a superstar and he carries this otherwise insipid movie on his shoulders. The hero (Prabhas) in the title role is an angry young man who is forced to take law into his hands after being a saint! Raghavendra is so hotheaded initially that he beats up everyone including someone who chews bubblegum while the National Anthem is sung. His worried parents take him to Mantralaya and make him a devotee of Lord Raghavendra Swamy to reform him into a peace-loving guy. Raghavendra takes an oath of non-violence and decides to live a calm life. He does not react when some goons humiliate his sister-in-law. But slowly his parents realize that there is no point in keeping him like that and they ask him to clean up the society from the ‘scum of the earth’. Then our hero goes berserk as he finishes off the bad guys. The message that director Suresh Krissna wants to say is garbled. Anyway it seems the director’s objective is to showcase Prabhas as the next action hero. The girls Anshu and Swetha Agarwal has nothing much to do. Mani Sharma has rehashed his Tamil song from the film Youth, “Aalthotta Bhoopathy….” as ”Calcutta Pan Vesinaa….” with Simran doing what she did in the original. The message of the film seems to be clear- it is better to take law into your hands if you have to live in this society!! Verdict: Message Masala |
