| By Moviebuzz Nuvve Kavali was a trendsetter in Telugu and similar films based on adolescent love stories followed. Now Allani Sridhar has tried to re-work this formula once again in Uthsaaham but the outcome is tedious and stale. Vennela (Sunitha Varma), Vineeth (Sai Kiran) & Venu (Amar) are best friends and both Vineeth & Venu admires Vennela but both keep their love in their mind. Vennela loves Vineeth and she too does not reveal it. It is Venu however who expresses his love when Vineeth goes for a foreign trip. There is a villain OK Raja (Rajeev Kanakala) who lusts after Vennela. How OK Raja creates misunderstandings between the three friends and who gets Vennela in the end forms the rest of the story. The story was inspired from by two big hits of the past, Nuvve Kavali and Prema Desam. The only saving grace in the film is the comedy and music, which is average. The picturisation of the songs are good. The lead cast Sai Kiran, Amar and Sunitha Varma are just ok. Sunitha lacks glamour and Anchal was roped in by the director to provide the necessary oomph. Verdict: Below Average |
