| By Moviebiz Krishna’s new film Chandravansam is a remake of the Kannada film Habba But actually the film is inspired by ‘Virata Parvam’ from Mahabharata. You can also call the film a modern adventure of the five ‘Pandava’ brothers. It is a mushy family drama of five brothers played by Krishna, Suman, Naresh, Sivaji and Rohit. Four brothers are married and the youngest one Rohit is in love with Priya who lives with her four brothers who are bad. Knowing that Priya would inherit all the wealth, once she gets married, the four brothers see that she does not get married. To help their kid brother’s love blossom, the Pandava brothers gets into the house of the baddies. So like ‘Virata Parvam’ from Mahabharata they get into Priya’s house as servants and Rohit as Bruhannala(the eunuch) who is a dance master. The rest of the film is how the Pandava brothers win the battle to get Priya with a lot of twists. V.Umakant the Kannada director who did the original has directed the film, which is very slow moving. The only silver lining in this otherwise boring movie is Krishna, who has put in good performance. He is the one-man entertainment troupe in the film. The rest of the cast can be forgotten. Verdict: Tedious |
