GV: I make music for the love of it
By Moviebuzz
It’s difficult to track down the youngest music director of Kollywood. After working till the wee hours of the night, a visibly tired GV Prakash Kumar (GV to his friends) emerges from the recording studio and returns your call.

Talk about his forthcoming albums, and GV is all smiles: “I have a few exciting films in hand. The songs of Aayirathil Oruvan will be a trendsetter of sorts. Selva was a great person to work with and he gave me a free hand. Plus he’s got an excellent ear for music, so it’s not as if you can please him with a shoddy piece. The audio is releasing on June 14”.

He then continues talking about his forthcoming projects: “ Madrasapattinam is a period film and I have tried out something new by mixing contemporary with period. After all, songs have to appeal to today’s youth. I have completed two songs for Dhanush’s Aadukalam which is very raw and rural.

GV’s songs in Angadi Theru is rocking the charts and he has his kitty full with Pinkurippu directed by debutant Mani, an associate of Gautham Menon. And then there is Simbudevan’s cowboy thriller Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam. He is also doing a Telugu film directed by Karunakaran and the Kannada remake of his debut Telugu album Ullasamga Uthsahamga with additional two new songs.

GV concludes: “Every film has a certain rhythm to it. The fun lies in finding it. For me the journey is more important than the destination”.
