Nanayam audio launched!
By Moviebuzz  | Friday, 06 November , 2009, 18:53

Capital Film Works’ Nanayam, the next venture of producer SP Charan is in the final stages of production. The film had an audio launch on Sun Music, today. The movie starring Prasanna, Sibiraj, Yasmin and Ramya, is directed by newcomer Shakti S Rajan while the camerawork is by Om Prakash.

For Charan, the film is very special since his father, singer SP Balasubramaniam has returned to the screen after several years and is also singing a duet with KS Chitra in it. Apart from this, Charan is happy for several other reasons as well. He says: “This is our fifth film and I have introduced new talent as always. I am introducing director Shakti, new heroine Yasmin and lyricists Dr Krudaya and Kavivarman. I am also showing Sibiraj as a villain for the first time and this will be a turning point in his career.”

James Vasanth has scored the music and praised the performance of Prasanna and Sibiraj. “Prasanna has shown so many nuances and subtle expressions in this role, it’s easily one of his best performances,” feels the music director.

According to James, director Shakti, gave him a bound script which read like a James Hadley Chase novel. “Shakti also knows a lot about music and Charan gave me a free hand to do whatever I wanted, regardless of commercial considerations. It was a pleasure working with this team.”

For Ramya ( Ragini in Thee and Sandai) this is the third film and she is cast as a reporter in the film. Yasmin, a former model, plays a banker.

The story is about a bank robbery and from the trailer and song shown, it seems like a Hollywood style slick film. Sibiraj is thrilled with his role of a bank thief and says, “My father usually listens to all my scripts and he felt that with this role I would have a bigger scope as villain than all the villains he has portrayed so far! I am a big fan of James Vasanth and am thrilled he has given the music.” Prasanna revealed that it was he who suggested Sibi’s name as villain for he felt no one else could do it better.

Simbu has lent his voice for one song for Sibi while Devi Sri Prasad has sung for Prasanna. Though it’s a slick and stylish film there is a kuthu song and a club song apart from a love duet with a total of six songs.
