Meipporul: a unique NRI venture

NRIs live on foreign shores, but they still have two unbreakable links to their motherland—cricket and movies.

A new breed of NRIs have now tried to bridge the two shores by making a film titled Meipporul in Tamil. It is also to be released as Yethi Nijam in Telugu.

The pioneering venture of three Bay Area friends, Meipporul is an aim to set a new trend in Tamil cinema. It aims for storytelling that has sensibility and creativity, and hopes to bring a new feel to the Tamil and Telugu movie industry.

The story revolves around Sam (Krish Bala), a successful neurosurgeon, and his wife Devi (Anusha), a reporter for a Tamil-language magazine. And the suspense is introduced when a few old and new friends invade Sam's life.

Meipporul is the first Tamil crossover movie that has been shot entirely in the US. It has an international cast, and the film will be distributed widely through the US and India.
