Rajinikanth- Nayanthara starrer Kuselan has got the green signal for a simultaneous release in Karnataka on Aug 1, along with the rest of the world.

Remember that many groups had alleging that the Tamil superstar had made “anti-Kannadiga” statements and therefore the film be banned in Karnataka.

But the new KFCC Chief, Jayamala believes that the water issue should not be linked to the release of Kuselan.

KFCC has given permission to distributors Pyramid Saimira to release the film with 10 prints in 13 theatres in Bangalore.

Jayamala, in a statement said that the Hogenekkal issue should not be linked to the release of Kuselan, since producer K Balachander was a respected film personality who had contributed to Kannada cinema.

She said: "One of our own members is releasing the film, and how can we stop the release?”

And in Kuselan a remake the Malayalam hit, the late Kannada actor Raj Kumar is shown along with many others in a song- Cinema Cinema….
