Surya-Asin action film Vel, directed by Hari, is red hot in the trade. The producer Mohan Natarajan, has struck gold as all areas in Tamil Nadu have been sold out at a new high.
Chennai city rights of Vel has been purchased by Abhirami and GV films for Rs 1.05 Crore. It is the highest price ever paid for a Surya film’s city rights. Abirami and GV combo are lucky distributors who paid record amount for Sivaji and made it a hit.
So what makes Vel so hot in the trade? The last time Surya and Hari combined in an action movie Aaru, it was a disaster. The selling point of Vel is clearly the coming together of Surya and Asin after Ghajani. There is huge curiosity among the audiences to see the magic pair once more.
