Happy news, the Tamilnadu entertainment tax authorities have cleared Sivaji for tax exemption. There was a controversy over the name Sivaji, as some people thought that it was not a “ Tamil” sounding name, as required by the government order. Finally the office of Tamilnadu commercial tax department after consulting the experts has given the go ahead.
Meanwhile the entire Tamilnadu theatrical rights or distribution rights have been sold out, 10 days before the release of the film! And the buzz is that producers AVM is sitting pretty, as they have been able to get distributors for all areas in Tamilnadu except for NSC area where they are said to be distributing it themselves, through their agents, working on a commission basis.
All areas in Tamilnadu have been sold at astronomical rates, almost twice the rate at which Chandramukhi was sold. The distributors are confident that they will recover their investments, as they feel that the “Sivaji craze” will work to their favour!
