`Sivaji` TV rights sold!
By Moviebuzz  | Tuesday, 29 May , 2007, 09:52

The television rights of AVM's Rajnikanth starrer Sivaji, has been sold to the yet to be launched Kalaignar TV, for a whopping amount. The channel itself will become operational only from August 15, 2007.

It is a major setback for Kalanidhi Maran owned Sun TV, which had grabbed all the earlier Rajnikanth TV rights. Sun TV, which had the best Tamil film library in the world will be hit badly by this development. Remember Sun TV got record TRP's telecasting Rajnikanth films like- Baasha, Padayappa, Baba regardless of the number of times. Sun TV too has the rights of Chandramukhi which is due for telecast in 2008.

Kalaignar TV will run as the mouth piece of DMK, though officially it will be run as a Raj TV enterprise. Kollywood, the traditional fence sitters have already switched their allegiance to Kalaignar TV.
