chandrusify111 asks Sir, how many tamil films have you worked in and what is your favourite film of yours
Anand says Six films, Mudalavan is my favourite. I used lots of techniques to convey the story in the film.

sujeesh_s asks how different is it working in Bollywood and in the south?
Anand says Nowadays it is easier to work in BOllywood. Amitji, Shah Rukh, Aishwarya, and the other's are very professional.

Anand says Indian script and screen play varies as far as their sentiment levels are concerned. The lighting also varies according to the script and there is no prescribed rules.

Anand says These are great films, but please include `Citizenkane`along with it.

arunmobile asks abhay, or alavandan,, is one film i consider has very good camera activity. how do u rate the cinematography in the film?
Anand says Short by Thiru, these are ofcourse good films. But as far as I am concerned I feel Thiru's best came out with the movie `Hey Ram`.

Anand says A bad camera-man can make the the work of a good director appear worst.

Anand says It is the first cinemascope film to get a national award. The whole movie was shot within 32 days in Pollachi. Script dealt with loads of landscape...

Anand says Watch lots of films, take lot of photographs, read books and eat well..

Anand says There is no exposure in this movie and remember she is Srikanth's wife, and I Acted very naturally. As an actress I think she has scored....

Anand says I shot 120 cover photographs and 2000 blacn and white photographs for them. Those were my foundation days as far as photogrpahy goes....

gopan_123 asks I saw your film Thenmavinkombathu,with director priyadarshan you did,what was the your experience while working with Priyadarshan???,As i know priyadarshan also a good photography.
Anand says It was a good experience, he gave me my first break. I learnt lots of things from him.

chandru_sify111 asks How was it working for p c sreeram, one hears that he is a difficult person to work with?
Anand says He is a very good human benig, he recommended his assistants to all the good directors. With Film Institute you just get a degree but with PC you are assured of good films and directors.

jesrial asks sir, i see that in films nowadays, we see too many close up shots. and moreover, most of the film seems to be run on close ups or near closeups.. very rarely do i see long shots.. any particular reason?
Anand says With the Cinemascope format it is better to shoot in close ups and it is also an escapist route to shortne the time and money.

jesrial asks is it easy working with malayalam directors rather than with tamil directors???
Anand says All are the same... One shouts in Malayalam and the other in Tamil :)

asks Will kana kandein revive the fortunes of gopika, who seems to be talented, but not getting a break in tamil..
Anand says Gopika will go places after `Kana Kandaein`. She is already busy in Tamil.

Anand says First I would love to learn teh language and then make a movie....

Anand says I wanted a young, innocent, educated looking hero for the role of Bhashkar, a research scholar.

Anand says I worked with PC as an assistant... I have worked with Priyadarshan, Shankar, Manssor Khan, Raj Kumar Santoshi, Vasanth, Kadir, Susi Ganesh, and Gandhi Krishna... these were the people who influenced me to enter into direction.

asks who are your favourite authors in tamil?
Anand says Thi Janakiraman, Ra Su Nallaperumal, Ki Rajanarayanan, Sujatha, Shivashankari, Vasanthi and ofcourse Suba :)

Anand says The difference is that between Almighty and mere Mortal. PC ofcourse, no cinematographer in India has used so many styles in different films. Mouna Ragam, Nayakan, Thevar Magan, Thiruda Thiruda, Kuruthipunal are totally different in camera work....

Anand says In photography Ansal Adams, Cartier Bressons, Raghu Rai etc. In cinematography PC, Vilmose Zigmount, Allen Daveieu.

jaymonj asks sir, watched your movie. good stuff. in my opinion the highlight of the movie is the character Madan. congrants the way you have shaped this character. why did you choose prithviraj for this role? how good an actor is he in your opinion?
Anand says We scripted it keeping in Arvind Sami in our mind and we wanted a vilain without a knife and `aruvaal`.. We wanted him to torture others with a smile and Prithvi suited the role to a `T`.

crazyplanet asks what are you comfortable with direction or cinematography.. and what themes do you prefer if you want to direct a film???
Anand says Now i think I am comfortable with both provided I have a good script and a good team. The theme that disturbs my sleep.
